Commissioning of the Second Phase of Qaleh Ganj Solar Power Plant

Qaleh Ganj is a city located in the heart of southern Kerman, Iran. The second phase of the Qaleh Ganj Solar Power Plant was connected to the national grid in September 2025. The power plant, with a capacity of 25.1 MW, has been constructed to help alleviate electricity shortages in the Qaleh Ganj county, strengthen the feeder connected to the local industries and the adjacent hospital, and create employment in less privileged areas.

The project was completed over a period of 6 months through investment by Saba Power Generation Company and under the supervision of GNEC.

In the construction of the power plant, EA Solar bifacial solar panels with a capacity of 580 V and 23% efficiency, along with 100- kilowatt Fronius inverters manufactured in Western Europe, have been used .This power plant has been constructed on a 1.4- hectare plot of land. With the commissioning of the second phase, the total capacity of the Qaleh Ganj power plant has reached 25.2 MW.

This project is a significant step towards the localization of large-scale solar power plants in southern Kerman and promoting the culture of utilizing renewable energy in Iran.
