On Wednesday, August 16, 2026, Mr. Mahmoud Sadeghi, Project Manager of the Combined-Cycle Power Plants Projects at Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, accompanied by Mr. Seyed Mohsen Mousavizadeh, Member of Parliament representing Ahvaz, Bavi, Hamidiyeh, and Karun, visited the Veys Combined-Cycle Power Plant construction project and reviewed its progress.

During the visit, Mr. Sadeghi stated that the power plant project is currently under implementation and comprises two 581 MW gas units and one 586 MW steam unit, with a total capacity of 2,000 MW.

The implementation of this project will increase the region's electricity generation capacity, contribute to enhancing grid stability, meet the growing electricity demand in the region, and create employment opportunities.

He added that the first gas unit of the power plant, with a capacity of 581 MW, is expected to be commissioned before the peak summer demand period of 2027, subject to the provision of the required financial resources and liquidity.
